you're being a tit

if you're getting those temps using prime blend and your content with your overclock then no reason to change, on that note what voltage are you using for your 4ghz overclock because those temps are quite high, more than likely you can reduce the votlage and those temps would be much lower. More importantly what's your ambient temps?

the hyper 212+ doesn't respond well to high OCs, well let me rephrase, doesn't respond to high OCs with high voltages...Its a mid range cooler.....

have you seen the latest 212+ entry in the stable club??

Lapped 212+ and cpu, quite amazed with the results.

The 212+ is capable of running 4.5ghz with average volts and decent temps.

@OP

Check the Sandy Stable Club, link is in my sig, scroll to the top of the spreadsheet and select by 'cooling' and scroll down for all the 212+ entries.

i have muna! I am pretty impressed with the 212+ as i always have! But it tends to get really hot with high voltages .

You could get the H80 with quieter fans and still get decent temps. I'm running mine with gentle typhoons and it's almost silent.

For the $$$ the 212+ is pretty good, yeah true but if you don't have a voltage hungry chip then the 212+ is bloody good and I can see overclocks around the 4.5ghz region very easily. Every single entry in the Stable Club were all below 85c and majority below 80c and average overclock I would say 4.5ghz, which isn't really the best but again for the $$$$ it's damn good. Quite a few showed around mid 60s with their 4.5ghz which is brilliant, however one must take ambient temps into consideration.

Max i ever had on i5-2500k 4,9 GHz is 72 C, normally i have about 70 C. I'm using Scythe Mugen 2 REV.B, so that Corsair H60 of yours is not that much better

this really helped me out allot, i think i'm going to try for the h70 since it has a bigger rad with more coolant so i should be able to withstand the heat @ longer load times.

if it gets really hot the 212 is simply too small to get rid of the heat fast enough, should be obvious by just looking at it side to side with something like a silver arrow.
