The MSI 870 G-54.
Great support and functionality, very easy to overclock with, USB 3.0, convinient locations for SATA connectors, 2 PCIE lanes, and it as that Auto OC (But I wouldn't use it, it doesn't work well)

Just thought I'd add to the PSU discussion in this thread and mention this one by Corsair.
It's $20 more after MIR, but it is modular and has a 7 year warranty as opposed to a 5 year one. I believe it also had a decent combo deal with the Samsung Spinpoint F3 if you're in need of an HDD.

I know we all want the best of the best, but any C3 processor would do a fantastic job for him. I really believe triming your CPU budget a little while increasing your motherboard budget is the right thing to do. The boards that are under $100 are usually going to come with a cheap power design like a 3+1 or 4+1 and most of them will not even have heatsinks which is going to hold back your overclocking.

If you find one with an 8+1 or 8+2 for under $100 it is likely to be a cheap brand.

You may not end up like me and purchase a X2 555 that unlocks to a X4 B55, but even the X3 it should unlock to will do everything you want and then some. You should at least get 4.0GHz out of it too.

I wish that had been available when I bought mine. My next PS will definitely be modular.

I highly recomend This PSU. Its cheap as all get out, Antec is a great company for customer service/RMA, $69 shipped right now. I have used 5 of these PSU's, one of them is in my sig rig. Great bargin for a budget PSU. Will power any cpu, single GPU, and tons of extra crap with room to spare. I wouldnt use it for a Dual GPU set up though.

Good lord! This is the honest truth. I have to leave LLC on or I end up with a BSOD because it drops like almost .375V or sometimes even more.

Then, I have to deal with LLC bumping my voltage up by .25v hear and there, especially when under load.

Gigabyte boards any better? UD3, UD4 (lower end 8+1/8+2)? Crosshair is probably way out of his budget! He wants something close to $100 if he buys a 965. If he buys a 555, that maybe takes his board budget to $150.

OP, any wiggle room?

EDIT: I am complaining to Asus by the end of the week because those high-end 890FX boards have an adjustment in the bios to set LLC to a max voltage increase, so I hear. Can you confirm this?

Sounds like it's your PSU or CPU. Mine is fine...

Any AMD3 mobo should be fine honestly, unless you plan to OC hardcore. Choose the mobo based on features you need.

Honestly though If you are going with a new mobo/cpu setup I would be looking at an Intel 2500k.
