Sure. No problems. We are all here because we want the best performance we can get for our hard-earned money, and we are all here to have fun. That's all.

So if Kepler is better then AMD's offering in a couple of months, I will gladly switch.

But right now, a 6990+6970 can take a 580 Tri-SLI set-up for 500$ less, and 200W less. So I'm with them... for now.

Alot of people on Nvidia's side were calling my names for saying that 6990+6970 was better then 580 SLI 1 month ago, and now HardOCP just showed us that 6990+6970 can even take 580 Tri-SLI.

So the ''troll'' was not that crazy finally.

Have fun. That's all that matters.

The 6990 cores can go HIGHER then 2 6970! I have a 6990, and can OC my core to 1095! and there is a 6990 owner at 1130! That's 6970 MSI Lightning (that just came out) territory. But the vanillas 6970 don't go that high so easily! And find me vanillas 6970 at 1100 24/7. Yep. Not easy to find...

And I also have 2 6970 at home, and one is stuck at 1010 (1.3v) and the other 1040. They CAN'T go higher, while my 6990 can reach 1095! So my Quad-Fire set-up is stuck at 1010 because of one of my 6970, while my 6990 can fly much higher!

Low-leakage cherry picked chips on the 6990. People forget that.

So please stop with that internet myth everyone. It's not true. I have both 6990 and 6970s at home. Not copy and pasting. I had fun for hours OCing those cards and flashing BIOS on those. True experience.
so.. if the 6990 overclocks better.. would 6990+6970 be better than 6970*3?

hah, the only problem is that I can't afford doing this upgrade + wcing cards + my system

I knew that the 6990/6970s were pretty hot cards.. I was planning on using 1 delta 3300 + a san ace 9g 2600rpm for giving a little breath to the cards but I don't think that it will change things too much lol

Mentioning of blue screens, pathetic scores on Crysis 2 etc are enough to put me off right now. That and I only play 3 or 4 games anyway.

128fps and 134fps are some crazy figures.
