That's a 20% increase in price. The Vertex 3 obviously wins in benchmarks, but how often do benchmarks ever translate into real world performance that most people would actually notice. If you aren't going to be using SATA III with either drive you're wasting your money.
Intel drives are also marketed for having greater reliability. There is some numbers to support that
but take them with a grain of salt.
