Dedicated GPU?
post #12 of 21
Yes,

The GT540 is a dedicated GPU, however I would probably look at the higher end models of the previous generation of laptop.

Basically, rather than getting a GT540, go with a GT480 on an older laptop.

Make sense?

EDIT - Just tell me your budget please.

AT LEAST under 1200 dollars. That is the very maximum. The one I posted is around the 1000. I have the money for more, I just don't want to use them on computers (;

Have a look for a second hand Asus G73 or something, you'll probably have to get it second hand but it's an epic gaming laptop.

But yes, you'll spend about $1200 on one so at the top of your budget, but it would last you a while

Second hand as in...?

as in go to ebay and see if there are any up there. Also check craigslist if you're in the states. You could find a good deal.

If you want new then stick with what you have, it might not max out all games but they will certainly be playable.

I'm pretty split up with the whole G73 thingy. It seems really big and heavy considering that I'd like the laptop to be transportable as well as good (; Do you own it yourself? It would be nice with some estimates of how heavy and transportable it REALLY is. I can't seem to find any.
