ok i currently have a HD4650 1GB

im looking to upgrade to a HD4870 512mb

the 4870 is £60 or £39 if i trade my hd 4650 in to get it is that 4870 worth it

or is there any thing better in that £60-70 price range

also i can get a 4870 1GB for £70

Well,

tbh, I would say save up a bit more and get something that'll be a noticable upgrade. I know how much you want to upgrade but you need to make sure it's going to be worth it.

For £120 you can get a 6850, I would probably save up an extra £100 and go with a 6950 for £170

If you go with either of the upgrades you've pointed out, you'll just end up replacing them pretty soon anyway. I'd say hold on and get one of the above.

well if i get the 4870 1GB i wont need to upgrade for a while + the 4650 needs replacing it sucks for games its a XFX hd 4650 BTW

It's a good update, but if your looking in the range of a 4870, you might as well try and find a 5770.

you can either grab a 5670 or a 5750(if you want DX11 support) else get a 4870 or 4890 with 1gb Vram..or get a 2nd hand 5770 here..

looks good its just the place im getting the card allows me to trade in my old hard ware and they want too much for the 5770 also there is only a 13% difference in performance between the 5770 & 4870

i have no need for DX11 support no game that i play on my pc uses it

Get the GPU in my sig, still manages great fps on today's games at 1080p for me. 4870 1gb vapor-x toxic
