An IP address is not probable cause, and if I am arrested because something came from or went to my IP address, that is false arrest.

The odds of it making it to a jury trial after they go through all of my stuff and find nothing even remotely related to the warrant are nil.

If I was treated the way the individual in the original article was, I would have plenty of grounds for litigation against whatever law enforcement agency was responsible, and would almost certainly win a settlement.

No warrant should ever have been issued for the individual in the article. It was obvious incompetence on the part of law enforcement. Indeed, if the circumstances in the article are factual, the homeowner could have gotten away with injuring or killing the officers trying to arrest him. It was a no knock warrant, so the officers did not promptly identify themselves, and they initiated violence.

This is as clear cut a case of reckless, overeager, judges and officers victimizing an individual as you're likely to find.
At least somebody isn't stupid..... Yes this guy is right, the guy could have shot them with a shotgun if he wanted to.
