Trouble Overclocking AMD 5500, Corsair Ram

Hi guys,

specs..

AMD X2 5200
ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe
Corsair CM2x 1024 RAM 2x 1G Stix
Geforce GTX 460

OK, so heres the trouble I am having. I have left the CPU at standard clock for now, as it seems the CPU can overclock quite happily even with windows based OC programs, or the bios ones.

However, when I try to trim my timings on my corsairs from 5 5 5 18 to 4 4 4 15, with a voltage increase from the standard voltage of 1.8v to 2v, it BSODS every time. As I understood it, this trimming of the timings doesnt seem like a huge jump for this ram?? I have tried no voltage increase, and leaving the 18 on auto, but still BSOD.

I ran memtest, for the entireity? ...length.. dunno how to spell it.. anyway.. NO ERRORS at all.. Can someone help?

arch.

Try dropping the timings one at a time, like 5-5-4-18,5-4-4-18,4-5-4-18,4-4-5-18,you get the idea and test each setting as you go,that will help narrow down which is giving you trouble.

Good luck
