Because a lot of home users upgrade the processor in their PC... If they want something better/newer they will buy an entirely new PC (and upgrade their OS in that manner).

Please read. He said home user: the VAST majority of home users don't have or even know about those cards.

OP has a point. Nvidia and AMD don't really support XP drivers well at all anymore.

Read the original post, bro. If they would have said the card is un-supported in XP, I would be fine and perfectly happy with that and would've just bought a different card (replaced with an older card instead of this one). They stated it runs fine in XP when it doesn't (because they deliberately crippled the drivers), has nothing to do with what I should upgrade to.

Microsoft has already announced its plans to sunset XP, why should hardware manufacturers continute to support something that the software manufacturer is no longer supporting?

Almost everyone who goes out and buys a fermi is purchasing it for DX11 capabilities, and hence, they are using it Win7/Vista. Sorry, but its a 10 year old OS. It's had its time in the sun. It's fortunate that they still make drivers for XP, as many manufactures have discontinued XP support. XP is still used in corporate environments, and your 80 year old grandma. But corporate environments and your 80 year old gradma aren't playing games.

That is in their own interest, since the more operating system/hardware variations they support the bigger their targeted customer base becomes.

XP = ubercrap. I switched to Mac because of it. I think I even hated it more than Vista. Its dead, its over, time to dump it. You can be as mad as you want at nvidia about false advertising and what not. Thats not going to make their drivers work any better on XP.

Yes it does! Your rig is from the last decade. Including the software.

Look all of us at one time or another had to make do with what we have. You have screw loose to try and tell us we doing it wrong. You wont listen reason all the while defending an operating system that went on sale in 2001!

Think about that? If microsoft doesn't support XP, why should nvidia? Sorry your late to the party...
