Like already mentioned the 680i depending on what version you have can be complete junk for the Q6600. BUT if you have an A1 or T1 board it should oc just as well as any p35 board with a Q6600.

I had my Q6600 up to 3.0ghz easily at 1.25v with the same board. I just don't OC it more because I have an old alienware WC which sucks. @3.0ghz I sometimes reach 57-58ºc and I want to keep temps lower than 60ºC just to be safe.

Thread Starter
maybe I shud just stick to a 2.9 overclock, its totally stable and has been for nearly 3 yrs now, is it worth pushing it much further, not sure I'd actually see a difference other than in 3dmark etc.
What do you guys think ?

I had the A1 revision and had my q6600 at 3.6ghz 24/7. I left every voltage on auto except the ram. Couldnt tell you what bios was being used.
