Generally speaking;

MCR QP series for bang / buck
XSPC RX or Black Ice SR1 series for low speed fans
Black Ice GTX series for high speed fans

Best flow and lowest noise? The perfect pump...

The MCP35x might be your thing here; it has a high maximum pressure and therefore good flow, and is PWM capable, so you can change it's speed to suit your rigs temperature. Only downside is the cost, at ~$100 it is more pricey than other pumps.

Otherwise look at something like the MCP655 - lower noise than the MCP355 but less flow. Or the MCP355, more flow but noisier.

Then there are the Jingway-1200 rebrands (DD CPX-Pro, EK DCP 4.0), cheap, fairly powerful and quiet.

Aesthetics really, no performance difference, go with what you want to do and what fits better. External res would be easier to fill but you can always plumb in a fill port to the top of your case for an internal res.

Scythe Gentle Typhoons, by far and away the best noise / performance fan available. Comes at a cost though, ~$20 / fan and 1850 rpm ones are hard to find in stock.

Other than that most fans perform very similarly from a noise / CFM perspective. A good, cheap option are Yate Loon mediums.
