Nope never had a single GSOD... cards are rock solid and I fold on them 24/7. It has nothing to do with the BIOS/clocks. I have had the black screen issue from day one of owning these cards and playing BC2...(way before any OCs or BIOS changes) anyone that doesn't imo is full of bs that they don't have the issue because a 1000+ post count thread on the BC2 forums says otherwise.

Try googling Black screen flicker BC2... maybe it is the game? but I have heard both ways.

Never had an issue with BC2 on anything after 9.12 (which had flickering with the tank camera in campaign mode). 10.10e worked especially well with the 5850s.

So the pegged GPU at 100% was due to Firefox?

I'm still wary about installing these. Running 10 series drivers without any problems.

I've had bad experiences with the past two official 11 releases.

could be a card problem because safe mode will not load the drivers, which if it was a driver issue it wouldn't matter and safe mode would boot.

Do you have a spare card to test?

Grow up.

ez12a, 10.10e was a fine driver for my CF setup at the time.

word.

I had the same issue with the 11 series so far except this latest one which I have not tried: After leaving hte computer on for some time, either gaming or browsing my GPU would mysteriously be pegged at 100%. During htis time, UAC prompts become super slow and my system completely stops responding during the black screens in between prompts.

Since I have a dual monitor set up, each individual screen goes black one at a time, then reappears one at a time. My mouse and keyboard are non-responsive while the screens cycle like this. So whenever a UAC prompt comes up, I'm waiting probably around 20 seconds total to get past the prompt and start the programs. Annoying as hell. Also affects alt tabbing from a game.

Edit: and i'm talking about my 5850 in my other rig. not my macbook.

no just my IGP, funny thing even if i have the 6950 installed, but using the IGP it does the same thing. i forgot to add the it artifacts even at the post screen. good thing i had my IGP as back up, was able to flash it back to 6950
