Looking at the charts, it seems the Yate Loon is the best, but its a lot louder correct? If I buy a GT AP-14 and a Scythe Kaze Maru 2, how much can I expect my temps to drop down by? Also what would be the best configuration? On my D14, I didn't change anything at all so they're both Push Air through the HSF and into my Exhaust Fan, is that the best setup?
I was also hoping someone could answer my question about TIM, is IC Diamond 7 the best one on the market, or are there better ones available?
Adding a second P12 gave me another 0.5c cooling in my 2010 D14 testing. The stock P12+P14 is hard to top. You either go for a quieter setup or a much higher performing one. The KM2/AP-14 is quieter, but will not cool better than the current fans.
The stock arrangement of fans on the D14 is a P12 in push, and a P14 in center pull-push. If you use an exhaust fan, the air from the D14 should be aimed at the exhaust fan.
My problem with exhaust fans is that they make noise and generally do most of their work overcoming the resistance of the inevitable grill they sit on (or under). In my cases I remove both grill and exhaust fan. But on a fancy case, not modding is understandable.

i got some IC-Diamond24 (for free
) and i found it excellent. it was slightly better than mx-4 (1-2.C, but some have seen over 4.C) but at over double the price, is it worth it?
test results here if you want to read http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18215803&page=11
edit. i actually found this thread, as i have just bought a used NH-D14 and was looking at fans as it has some blue led ones on it
i was thinking yate loons but are they that loud?
also @ehume, how come you using a mugen? is it better?
I am using my Mugen 2 ATM just as I used my Z600R: something to have in this rig while my D14 is downstairs on my test rig. I actually got the Mugen 2 for fan-testing, as a successor to the Megahalems that is now in my daughter's rig.
