hi guys.. I sold my galaxy 1000 and I wanted to know if the quattro 1200 is a good psu for running gtx580 3-way sli plus a 920 running at 4 ghz

I can only choose between the quattro 1200 or the SR 1200w so as you can see I don't have many options..

If you could give me a hand with this it'd be great, thanks

If that's all the options you have then it's fine. The TPQ-1200 is a fine unit. It's just very noisy.

With that said, yeah TRI-SLI 580s is fine on that power supply. I recall a video measuring 3 580s under heavy load consuming about 1000Watts from the wall (for the system).

Perfectly adequate. A TPQ-1200 could do quad SLI 580s.

Didn't someone manage to get 1700w from an Antec TPQ 1200 recently?
Yeah, it'll run anything you can fit in that case.

NickShih ran one with the OPP disabled up to about 1400W DC with a quad overclocked SLI GTX480, dual Xeon setup.
