It's well documented around the internet that it has caused issues, so don't just call something BS because YOU think it isn't going to hurt something.

Running these outside of their spec has killed peoples cards - I've seen many sob stories.
You don't have any conclusive proof either way. Some of the people who voted in the TPU poll on damaged cards due to 6970 bios, ended up withdrawing because it was driver issues. Some voted wrong. None of them actually had DEAD cards. I haven't come across one actual dead card in my time here and I've helped out many people on flashes and failed flashes.
If you examine the bios, it doesn't change the timings, it it just sets the speeds. The voltages barely get raised. Yall are making it out like fear mongers.
I've seen plenty of people blame crashing in BFBC on 6950 flashes, end up returning the card or rma'ing it, only to
find out later it was afterburner and punkbuster bugging out. But no, the card is fried lol, gimmie a break.
Also, if it was true that the flash kills 6950s, then why is it not bricking all 6950s? And if the 6970 is frying cards, why are people voting that their shader only unlock damaged their cards too? Imo, the data is raw and inconclusive. You can't tell anything from it.Edited by tsm106 - 4/27/11 at 11:08pm
