Oh.. so what is the solution for that? Get another motherboard? A PCI-e controller card? what's the most ideal solution here?

That makes me sad, I got this board cause of SATA-3 and hoped it would perform at least a little better than SATA-2.. not worse.

Is this common for all MSI Boards? Do you know if the asus boards have the same controller for sata-3?

@frW

If you want to enjoy the ful speed of the SATA3 you probably have to go with Sandy Bridge.

A PCI-e controller card could be worth looking into.

Might try the latest driver for both Intel and Marvell.

Here´s a SATA performance test that bit-tech.net made during their review of the X58A-GD65, it seems like the MSI board are worst then the most of the others with both the SATA2 and SATA3

I bought a new setup this xmas and I dont want SB. I want a solution for my current setup.

Will I get the max from a controllercard on pci-e?

The rocket 620 card seems both cheap and fast.. Are there any other issues when using a controller card?
