My system for instance was built only for gaming wich in all honestly is complete overkill for gaming but i know that with 2 6 core processors running 24 threads my computer is set for a very long time of course benchmarking also i build the computer.

Ive seen the new architecture compared to the lga 1366 honestly your performance gain is a 2 percent wich is marginal so to tell me that its worth the upgrade for someone that has a 990x or 980x or even my dual 5650s lol its not.
Correct, but I could get a i5 2500k and overclock as fast as your xeons are and it will beat it in games. Maybe not benching, but if all you do is stare at benchmark results all day then yeah sure.

That right there just proves that lga 1366 is still a very strong socket and still has many benefits left to it.
LOL Isnt this what your doing tho 1366 omg 5.6 kills other chips LAWLARCAKES

No im showing to other users that the lga 1366 architecture can still be very strong kingpin could probably take those chips even higher hes just showing people that lga 1366 is still a very good architecture.

And i hate to burst your bubble but they can perform on par with your chips my man maybe not in some benchs but in others 2500k kills yours

Technically by 'dead' it means there aren't any new CPU's being made for it... Which means it's dead.

Pointless thread is pointless.

OP, your socket is dead. Like it or not, it has run its course and now it has nothing left to live for. 1366 is still a powerful socket, and currently offers the only option to use a hex core with HT, but that will change in the coming months, and there will be ZERO reason for anyone to buy a 1366 setup.

Nw0rb, I hate to burst your bubble, but TWO six cores with HT are going to smash a 2500k in anything. Gaming, benching, encoding, you name it, they are going to win. So, stop trolling.
Meh >.<
