Ok i just checked and your board uses Realtek Audio drivers. Try to remember that in the future.

Do you have the ASUS P6X58D-E or Premium? I would first try the updated drivers on Asus's site and let us know if they worked. Newer drivers may have stereo upmixing options.

Click one of the links below, choose your OS and then expand the "Audio" box. Download the most recent drivers.

Thanks a lot. I have the Premium. I'll download and give an update.

I usually get Realtek drivers from the official website. ASUS rarely updates it's drivers. You will need to have a look at options in Realtek control panel. Coz I can't remember which one enables 2 to 5.1 convesrion.

In my VIA drivers this function is called "Speaker fill" but imo it has some other wording with Realtek.

Latest realtek drivers.

As asus doesn't keep drivers updated too greatly. added a picture as all the settings you need are in there.

There you go. It is called "Speaker fill" on Realtek as well as I see on the screenshot. Tick it so that if the source has 2 channels, driver would transform it into 5.1.

Its because your music isn't surround sound, I was pissed too.

I believe I installed the newest drivers and set my settings like this...

When I'm in the 6 channel mode on my speakers, only 2 of the speakers work still and when I'm in Stereo x2 it's the same front and rear but no center. Hmm...

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for the help so far.

Can you tell me how you have the cables hooked up to the back of the control pod and the realtek jacks? As mine are like so on the control pod.

Orange = Sub/Center
Black = Rear
Green =Front

Back of Realtek
Orange = Orange Jack
Black = Black Jack
Green = Green jack

Also are you 100% sure you are getting a good connection on the back of the sub for other speakers?
