[CVG]Sony sued over PSN data breach - Page 7

My PSN password was pretty legit, it was whatever they set it to so a bunch of random characters. Not that that really helps me now, but it has nothing in common my other passwords.

Pointing out the obvious.. I didn't even thought it was necessary to explain that idea.. Point is: NO PROOF YET

With all the mixed up feelings people have for Sony here everybody tries to force their point with exaggeration, which totally kills the reason for a good argument..

Sony doesn't have to do anything you've said. This is not the end of PS, or even PSN.

As for advice for PS3 owners:
Sony has already given advice regarding preventing identity theft (in e-mails to PSN members). They also gave numbers you can call to place a fraud alert on your accounts, and they'll pay the expenses if you call those numbers.

You shouldn't give advice on this.
yes and you probably going to eat whit them tomorrow to discuss about your golf score of last week

haha you are innocent you really think that all what they are doing is finding a way to be more secure ahhahaahahahaahahah

you just cant imagine how many bots is is involved in that hack and how complex the virus can be.

if it were like you said the problem would be solved the first day
we are in front of 1 of the biggest hack never done here
and it could be THE one so you will see how it goes by your self

So far, the only data that has been taken is the very same data you can get from any standard Facebook profile, besides the passwords. That is the only thing I am upset about, is the passwords. Password leaks happen quite often, people just like to pick on the "big greedy corporation". I don't remember seeing so much crying after all of Gizmodo passwords were leaked.
Not to mention, they didn't "hide" any information from anyone. They weren't even sure anything was stolen up until around Monday. They approached this just as they should have, disabling PSN and figuring out what has happened before scaring everyone.

Ignorant people will be ignorant.

I am surprised they didn't encrypt the data, they should be called out on that. Though, they shouldn't be -singled- out. So many others do it, such as Gizmodo, but people only care when they can sue to get money out of it.
The only ignorance is from you. The CC data was taken, it is a fact I can prove. The CC data was viewed, but since it is binary, and copied, and not a physical entity, the CC data still remained in place. Since none of the stolen CC's have been abused yet to anyone's knowledge, Sony is in the clear for their PR Spin Doctors to release some spin-lies. It can't be proven if I view a website that I copied the data down. I could have just viewed it and left. I could have viewed it and saved all the data. A PR Spin Doctor can then say that it does not appear that I took the website data when I viewed it. They know I viewed it, but that is as much as they can tell.

The CC data was viewed, but since Sony can't know if it was taken or not, they can get away with the PR Spin lies that they are spreading.

Lets prove this fact another way. If Sony was sure the CC data was not copied, they would come out and say so. Instead, since they know it was copied, they give you some BS that "we did not see it being taken, but change your security anyway".

Like I said, you're the only ignorant one here. The CC data was taken, anyone who denies this fact is lying for the sake of trolling.

Sony is done. The PS4 is cancelled. PlayStation is no more. $6 billion USD in debt and now this A-Bomb is dropped on them. They're going to be in so much debt, I don't even know, it's just so funny how much debt they will be in within the next few months. They're so dead. Bye PlayStation, nice knowing you. Not.

i think he's totally in the right. sony had some monkeys coding PSN. they didn't even bother encrypting the private info. not even encrypting it! 1 or 2 lines would have been necessary to ensure that people didn't lose their PERSONAL INFORMATION. their name, address, email, and credit have all been stolen, that's more than enough for identity theft.

I almost feel bad for Sony.

Except Sony isn't a person. It's a collective inhuman entity that deserves nothing.

I hope this sets a precedent for companies who go after helpless targets to prove a point.

Where is your proof for the last time. You keep spouting nonsense, like how Sony hosted the CFW on their own website and stuff like the CC info being stolen - but you have NO proof and yet to provide any.

Yes, you get past encrypted data so easily. You just "viewed it and left".

OFFICIAL RESPONSE FROM SONY:
Quote:
The entire credit card table was encrypted and we have no evidence that credit card data was taken. The personal data table, which is a separate data set, was not encrypted, but was, of course, behind a very sophisticated security system that was breached in a malicious attack.
http://www.overclock.net/video-game-...accompany.html

stop spreading your stupid fanboy lies and speculation. You have no evidence, you contradict yourself so much, you spew total nonsense.

The only trolling here is you Corky. For about a dozens threads. Everything you've said is either a lie or total speculation on your part. If it isn't that, it's complete utter nonlogical nonsense that doesn't make a complete thought like how it was a "conspiracy" for example.
