This this this this this.

Are people forgetting the crap Sony has been pulling lately? Suing members of the PS3 homebrew community, who I might add are only attempting to restore functionality to that Playstation 3 that Sony decided to remove (OtherOS).

Sony deserves to get sued, and this was a good opportunity. I'm sure the person behind this lawsuit isn't actually upset about the PSN data breach, but rather about all of Sony's actions as of late.

Just because a person does not like someone/company does not give them the right to sue them over nothing.

Yes, suing people like GeoHot who decided to take patented and protected software keys - use it to break into patented and protected software - none of which is like a jailbreak - and then distribute said software openly on the internet - of which is the same software whomever did this used to break into the PSN network and potentially came close to stealing Credit Card information. And of course piracy.

Yes, Sony deserved all of this - you're absolutely right. In fact, the consumers of Sony and developers like Valve deserved this too apparently because they are the ones being affected as well.
Sony removing Other OS was wrong, but everything that has been pulled against Sony in return is ALSO wrong if not even worse than anything Sony has done combined.

No need to shout buddy.

If you're that paranoid about it you could fix it in about 5 minutes and at 0 cost.

Ring bank - ask to cancel card - get new card sent. Done.

Yeah, addresses, fair enough but have you ever picked up a phonebook lately? Bloody White Pages hackers. I reckon if I picked a number at random from a phone book and rang them, for example let's say;

68686868
J A Doe
44 Somewhere Road
Somesuburb

and said,

"Hi am I speaking with James?"
Chances are they'd respond with "No this is Jerry"

There I have their address and full name. I hacked Jerry.

I may seem like I'm taking the whole event lightly, maybe I am, maybe not. I think credit cards are stupid and should be abolished anywho. Get a debit card and save yourself the trouble.

The fact that customers personal data has quite possibly been breached is a bad thing but customers should be pissed with the bunch of people that did this, not Sony.

Do you get pissed off with yourself when your house wasn't secure enough and someone breaks in and robs the joint? - extreme but I don't care.

Not that I don't agree that Sony should have had stronger security measures in place to avoid this in the first place - any company housing information like this should.

Suing people over such things is just lame I think. It happened to millions of people not just him. Like the lady which spilt her hot coffe, that case is laugh out loud hilarious. Cry over spilt milk why don't you (albeit, hot milk)

100% this. I care not for your noble hacker causes. If someone runs you over you don't get all your buddies to run said person over multiple times.

Over nothing? When someone steals $10,000 from a credit card, that is not "nothing".
