In terms of consumer goods, you've got everything from DVD players/recorders to televisions to cameras to monitors to projectors.

They have a wide range of professional cameras and electronics they sell.

If Sony went under, it would take out a HUGE part of the electronics we can currently purchase. Just go to Best Buy and look at everything that has a Sony logo on it.

Using Best Buy in your argument (any argument) is not a good idea.

Except it is, seeing as a good majority of the population uses Best Buy to buy their electronics.

Not to mention that you don't have to go to Best Buy to find Sony stuff. If you prefer:

If Sony goes under, people will just buy alternatives because there are so many of them. Sony isn't the only brand. Sure, there will be some big consequences in terms of financial impact but the world will move on. The world doesn't depend on Sony. That's the most retarded thing I've heard.

I would be much more worried when huge financial institutions go under, like how Lehman Brothers went.

Just means we have to buy from the dozen other brands that make nearly the same stuff for a better price.

I just did a quick glance around my room and I've found a total of ONE thing made by Sony. And it was my PS3. Hurray!

If Sony does go down, I'll simply find a way to hack my PS3 and use it for an HTPC thing and possibly folding. Oh well, big loss.

you can still use netflix on your PS3. when you get asked to sign in just attempt to, and when it says there's an error or w/e just circle out ( your only option I believe) and it should work from there. at least it has for me. You may have to do it several times but at least you get netflix on the tv right. Although to be honest I haven't tried it in about 4 days.

The point of suing is to make people whole. What will most likely happen is Sony will have to pay for identity protection for a certain period of time.
