4gb 1600 CL8 Ripjaws X = $55
CM Silent Pro M600 PSU = $80
Total = $525, save some by going with i5-2500 rather than 2500k if you aren't OC'ing. Then in that case the total will be $510.

Yea....stupid iPhone autocorrect. Yea more power is good but for the first year or so he will be doing just basics. I can help him upgrade some later. I will have passed the bar exam and hopefully have some money by then to help him out some more.
