Is a 1366 bracket compatible with an 1156 socket?

Thread Starter
When my processor comes in I plan to use my Dark Knight cooler which was used on a previous LGA 775 socket (Q9650).

No sorry, new mounting HW required. I believe Newegg has them - link

1156 works with 1155 but sadly 1366 only works with 1366.

1366 bracket is similar but the holes are a little further out. I know my xigmatek gaia had a bracket that was for 775/1155/6/1366; it had an oblong cut in it to just cover the differences in length.

Also the new DK coolers have a bracket for 775 and another for 1366/1155. I think you may be able to contact xigmatek and tell them you are upgrading your rig and you bought the DK a while back but they now come with the 1366 and 1155/6 bracket and ask them nicely if they can send you one.

The bracket on the far right mounts to the cooler and supports 775/ 1155/6 1366 for my gaia
