HDD RMA use Small Flat Rate Box?

Thread Starter
I've got a drive with bad sectors I need to send back to WD. Have any of you guys used small flat rate box for this? Just want to make sure, the drive is messed up anyway so why pay double shipping cost for a bigger box.

Thanks

As long as you put something in there to make sure it can't move around they wont have a problem.

If you use USPS get a scan form (for tracking purposes) and package it up. Also I recommend using a fake name for a company as well like Herpes Cream United or something. It deters USPS theft.

Just my 2 cents.

USPS tracking is called Confirmation #. You should be fine using small flat rate box as long as you wrap the HDD in an anti-static bag then some bubble wraps.

Don't they say you need like 3 inches of bubble wrap on each side of the hdd?

I wouldn't do it... they would probably say insufficient packaging and reject the shipment.

Also I would never ship to a buyer in such a small package and would be mad if someone did that to me. It's just not safe enough.
