Always USE A PSN CARD!
Luckily i told my brother to start using PSN cards 2 days before the hack and he took his credit card info off.
I probably saved his life savings

1 find out what the total amount of your purchase will be, including tax, and shipping.

2 go to your bank, and get a Visa gift card in that exact amount.

3 use the gift card for your purchase

4 throw card away afterwards.

There is no more money on the card, so even if someone does get the info about the card np there is no money on it anyway.

Gift cards are only $3 dollars USA. A cheap price to pay to know you are safe.
Isn't this pretty paranoid? I mean given the circumstances, cool...but I'm also not liable for any fraudulent charges. If watching your money is inconvenient, then you're not very good with money....

Soz to hear somone has taken $155 from your account, I hope sony pays people like you back because its unfair how your money that you've earned should get taken just because the've been hacked.

If your bank is reputable at all you aren't going to be liable for any fraudulent charges.

You never know, banks are in the money business.

I already cancelled my CC days ago and they sent me a new card for free... it takes 2 minutes, just call your bank and do this.

Getting them taking off of your account and/or dealing with a stolen identity would be much more inconvenient.

Yes the information was stolen, but according to Sony it's encrypted, it remains to be seen if they've cracked it yet, or found another way to farm CC info during the intrusion.

Did it say it was stolen? All along they have said, it doesn't look like it's been stolen, but they cannot rule out the possibility. For all we know, no card data could have been stolen!
