Can't help on the keyboard front, I use a G510 and personally like it but I got it through a guy I know in logitech so it was about 40% off the online price which is the main reason I got it. Mechanical is meant to make a normal keyboard feel like crap though so if you can afford it you may as well go mechanical.
In terms of mice, what way do you grip your mouse? Personally my grip isn't quite claw or fingertip but somewhere in between, leaning a little more toward the claw grip depending on how I need to move the mouse at the time. I like the logitech mx5** series mice and the G500. I have a G700 as well but I prefer the G500 for gaming. Obviously I'm biased as I started out gaming on an mx518 and my grip adapted to similarly shaped mice. That's why when you're shopping for a mouse you really need to go somewhere you can try a few mice out and pick what feels the best. There's also a reference sheet with information on what mouse has what sensor and how it affects cursor movement somewhere on OCN, I'll post it in two minutes, just need to find it.

Edit: sensor reference sheet http://www.overclock.net/mice/854100...nce-sheet.html

i wouldn't get the logitech illuminated keyboard if your into gaming, there are ghosting issues with that keyboard for gaming key combos i.e. w+shift+space

The G500/G700 look nice, I think I like the looks of the 700 better. Yeah I'm kind of set on a mechanical keyboard. I've never had a keyboard with a wrist wrest, I find them more uncomfortable than not having one?

I have not noticed this at all. If you dont like the illumiated part, it has an off button on the G510, never had a problem with ghosting.

Yea, i will say the g500 mouse is kinda ugly, but 10 buttons you can program is handy dandy all logitec mouse's with programable buttons use SetPoint for the software, its pretty good stuff Also on the g510(and most logitec gaming boards..but not all) the wrist gaurd is removable
