1st water cooling setup, temps... not pleasing.

Thread Starter
So this is my first attempt at water cooling, and overall I am not pleased with my experience or temps.
I currently have a Xspc Rasa RS240; however, the screws they provided would not fit my motherboard, so... I simply jerry-rigged it... yeah. AMD Overdrive says my temps are 49-51°C idle, and a Prime95 test crashed my system. I have the machine OC'd to 3.7ghz and had to lower it down to 3.5ghz.

The main issue is that with my old Coolmaster Hyper 101, I was running my OC to 3.7 with no problem. I am using Arctic Silver 5 paste, and I also have several improvised fans arranged within my case, as I was hoping they would help with cooling... no luck. I believe my issue lies in my improvised CPU water block setup; although I will have to wait until the morning to go buy the right screws.

My goal is to get this machine overclocked to 4.0ghz. Any help would be greatly appreciated, seeing as I have lost a lot of sleep over the past few days setting all this up, and I am at my wits end with this nonsense.

My system specs are listed in my profile, or below. I will also add some pictures to show you my improvised setup.

Note: Improvised fan

Frustrated improvised CPU block

Pump is hard to see, wondering is tubing is correct? (Pump-Radiator-CPU-Reservoir)

Both improvised fans visible (Side and bottom)

Other fan... yeah, pretty nasty setup.

Yeah dude, pictures don't work.

Sounds like your block isn't seated correctly (most likely since you jerry rigged it).

OR, the pump might not be working.

*Cough*, excuse me for that, but you did what?

Pull that off your system NOW. You still have the stock backplate and retention bracket installed.

Put your CM 212+ back on for now. Your block isn't even TOUCHING the CPU.
