suggestions for my ssd raid-0 array

Hey everyone, I'm building a new p67 desktop. I have wanted to for a while now make a crazy ssd raid-0 array. The only problem is I have very little knowledge in raid controllers so I thought I may make a thread over here and get some suggestions from you guys before I spend $1200+ dollars on SSD's and a controller. From what I've gathered so far, some people have recommended staying with onboard raid (which I don't really like because I may end up with 3+ SSD's and I don't want to use the [from what I've heard] terrible Marvell SATA III controller or limit my SSD's to SATA II), and others have recommended the LSI 9211-8i.

My budget is about US $1200 (I will spend more if this is unrealistic) for a controller and SSD's. I plan on using 2-3 Vertex 3 (Max IOPS) 120gb SSD's and later possibly more. My goal is to attain at or above 1gbps read/write speeds. Thank you guys in advance for taking the time to educate me and to give me some suggestions.

i like these two cards
HighPoint RocketRAID 640 (less expensive supports four drives)
Intel RT3WB080 (this is a higher end card, supports up to 16 drives)

the ssd you chose is more than good, if you pic the 640 controller card + the three drives you chose you should be able to fit it under budget. But if you go with the intel r3 and three of your drives it will cost you about $200 more. (personally i would chose option 2, wait till you get 200 dollars more and then buy the really good card and really good drives)

Thank you for your suggestion, Badassclocker. I just had a question, on the Intel controller it only lists RAID 1/5/6/10/50/60, no raid-0. I thought maybe they forgot to list raid-0 because I see 1+0, 5+0, and 6+0, but I wanted to double check to make sure. Also a few people have already recommended the Highpoint which looked ok, but a bunch of other people told me it didn't have very good driver support. Do you have any hands-on experience with the Highpoint? I don't want bad drivers limiting my performance of very expensive SSD drives, or just giving me a headache. As for my budget like I said, if spending another $200 - $400 will give me that much more performance I'll definitely just save up a little more. Thank you again.
