Its like if i bought a car...
EDIT: Most repeated sentence ever aside, no, this isnt for a greater cause or sweet justice or anything moronic like that.
1) Modify hardware sure, but dont hack the software which is merely licensed to you, not owned by you.
2) I couldn't care about the pulling of OtherOS, if the modding community liked it so much, why modify it so it can be used for piracy; at a time when the console was making a loss on hardware and a profit only on licensing, only the most stupidest of owners wouldn't have done what sony did. Not doing it has economic consequences; companies lose money, cut production, people lose jobs. What kind of heartless, self-centered community values the ability to run homebrew games, opening up the means for piracy, over the jobs of many, the families of many, I do not know. Frankly, these people can barely see past their own wants and needs and then accuse the consumer of blind selfishness for the sake of an extremely trivial liberty. Yes, being able to modify your console's software that you don't own is a trivial liberty; real liberties are things like freedom of speech, right to work, right to your beliefs, privacy rights. That's worth fighting for.
3) While the going after geohot thing was a bit far, perhaps you supporters of him should enlighten yourselves; "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
4) Identity theft is a serious crime. No-one deserves to have their idtentity stolen.Edited by Perdition64 - 4/30/11 at 8:37am
