Lag in Black Ops?

Thread Starter
Anybody else get this? I usually can find servers in TF2/Cs Source where my ping is 30-75 ms. All of the servers even ones pretty close say 130ms etc

A) I am not downloading or having any bandwith being used by a secondary source.

Is there maybe a console command or something that could be wrong?

My connection isnt bad. even on speed tests (speedguide.net) i ping 40 ms at the location of servers im playing (san jose ca is where the server is)
I live in Arizona...

Any advice?

Not sure what it could be. Have you checked firewall rules for the game to ensure all of the ports required are unlocked (a quick Google search can tell you the ones which need to be open).

It could be that for some reason a port is blocked thus it's forced to keep trying ports until it can get a connection. It's a complete guess but could lead to high latency issues.

This is true. I actually had to do that for Halo on the 360.

Should be a easy find. Thanks bud
