I am in desperate of help choosing a P67 board...

Thread Starter
I have spent countless hours doing research and I still can't decide. I am extremely new to computers so honestly i don't know jack s*!t about computers let alone motherboards..

I have a i5 2500k waiting to be put to use.

I absolutely cannot decide on which motherboard to choose so I am going to let you guys choose for me.. but what I do want is keep it under the $200 dollar price range (but I would prefer to spend less and save me some cheese) and I know I'll probably get flamed for this but I would also like it to look "cool" haha. for example like the asrock fatal1ty.

please PLEASE pick a good board for me I'm so sick of searching...

Any of the Asus P8P67 series I would say would be great. I've heard great things about them, and the EFI is insanely simple to use and is formatted well. They aren't the more sexy looking boards(nothing like my Maximus IV) but the best boards I have seen as far as style goes are all over 300 dollars. Asus has some great quality boards in general, just find the one that has exactly the features you want, with your preferred PCIe layout depending on what you're going to do as far as graphics or add-on cards.

To be honest though, once you get your graphics card in and your heatsink on, and especially if you are doing any custom lighting, the board more or less gets covered up. I went with a completely green/black theme for my set-up, and under the glass and lights, I don't even really get to appreciate the style and theme of my board.

Did you read the sticky in my sig?

I know that trying to find a suitable motherboard is difficult if you don't understand the technical mumbo-jumbo.

But my chart finds what you can live without. Don't have two graphics cards? Get the cheaper version. Don't need Bluetooth onboard? Don't want to overclock past 5.0Ghz?

I'll tell you a secret - 90% of P67 boards are excellent. In fact, you can't go wrong with ANY of the boards on the list.
