Apple makes some really nice laptops. Don't hate on them if you haven't even tried one. The build quality is amazing.
Do you guys use Xcode? I feel like it's the root of the problem haha.

LOL this is the WORST comparison I've ever seen. Really? You're going to compare a 13 inch portable to a 17.3 inch gaming laptop?

Why don't you also say that you get 2x the weight of material for the same price?

Garbage thread is garbage.

It doesn't make sense. They're not targeting the same market.

Why do people by Lamborghinis instead of buying a cheap Honda Civic and tuning it up? The Honda Civic, modded enough, can match the performance of a Lambo but for cheaper.

I'd take the Lambo over the Honda ANY DAY. Apparently, you'd take the Honda because it offers the best bang for the buck Let me know how that works out with the ladies

^^ They're onto the right idea.

Also, because Apple controls their own hardware AND software, their systems just work. Period. I'm not talking about the whole "no viruses" thing, because really that is just because they have such a small share of the PC market... hardly anyone bothers attacking Mac's because there aren't that many of them compares to Windows machines.

However, Apple's systems just work. Drivers are easy, backups are easy, transferring data between devices or to a new computer is easy. It always works, every time (obviously a slight exaggeration, but basically true compared to Windows machines).

Also, regardless of the "old" hardware they use, their OS is optimized for it and runs leaner than most Windows machines. It's kind of like consoles... developers can make an extremely optimized game because it's going on ONE hardware configuration.

Further, you cannot deny the build quality of any recent Apple computer is fantastic. Why the heck don't other manufacturers use more aluminum in their construction? It adds to the cost, but it's a great design.

All of this is coming from a devout PC fan by the way, who has never owned, nor will own in the future, any Apple computer or device (I even own a Zune!). Their design is great, and their products work. Period.

Example: My Dad used to run his business stuff between 2 PC's, and ran into major issues every few months. Now he has owned an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone for over a year. He's never had any compatibility issues, data transfer issues, crashes, or hardware problems. To him, that's worth WAY more money then a PC that runs a little faster.

Too a lot of people, that is worth the price.

It's not overtly difficult to get a Windows laptop to match the reliability of a Mac, or to find good build quality.

Only real things the MacBooks have going for them, besides battery life, are purely subjective.

I've never even met anyone who had a Lamborghini; haven't even seen one in person in 10+ years.

Far better off taking the difference between that Honda and the Lambo and getting a quality whore a few times a week. You'll likely get a better woman (less of a gold digger, cleaner, probably better educated), for more time, with less baggage.

That said, even a civic is a rip off.

I'd never spend more than 3k on a car.

Does it match the specs though? Looking at the M14X, they really don't have a higher end video card.

Regarding this dispute its pointless. Mac is priced higher because of a higher battery life, better support & piece of mind and its more pleasingly built. Thats it.

r34p3rex, I agree with your point, but theres a certain point where you can't get 7 hours of battery life with a ASUS G73.
