Iphone 4? or Android? - Page 6

I own an iPhone 4 and I have to say I love it. I cant compare to Android because I haven't used it nor seen it in use.

I purchased my iPhone two weeks ago to replace a stolen iPhone 3G. I got the 32GB version due to a small increase in cost and double the storage.

My first impression on the cellphone was very good. It oozes quality from every aspect.

It had iOS 4.2.1 installed from factory so I just used that. I used it on factory settings for about a day and then jailbroke it. I have been using it like that since.

The OS is extremely smooth and I have yet to find any quirks associated with it. Switching between apps is fast and I haven't noticed any lag at all.

Typing is very fast using landscape mode, but is considerably slower (to me at least, I have big hands) in normal mode.

The cameras are amazing for a cellphone and can even take some point & shoot quality pictures.

In short, I've been using this cellphone for pretty much everything and I'm happy I bought it.

I smell a debate brewing....... or brewed.

Android, not a single problem with any aspect except the market (see farther), love the way things are set up and love the customization options of the home tabs. Only issue is the market hasn't been around as long which means less games, but who cares about those. I have auto cad on my phone. Also, if you feel like voiding your warranty, you can root your phone and change everything about the OS if you want. I am going to do that when my contract runs out and I can get a new phone.

Did I mention we have Micro SD cards? We can increase our storage

I'd say the market is one of the advantages of the iPhone. There are so many people with it you'll find it easy to find protective covers, accessories and whatever else you might need.

Micro SD cards shouldn't really be considered a bonus. The biggest one I've ever seen is 32GB and it's pretty expensive.

Misspoke my point.

What I was intending to go with on the mico SD part was that it allows for upgrading of a sort. Run out of space on one? Get a bigger one. My Incredible has 8Gb onboard and an 8Gb MSD, I haven't even used a quarter of the total 16Gb of storage and I have a ton of music plus a few games and handy market apps. Probably won't be using the phone long enough to fill it completely, but if I do I can always get a 24 or 32Gb. The price on them will only go down as technology progresses.

A whole lot doesn't seem to be offered in the way of variety of Micros. I only saw Kingston for sale on Newegg, but Newegg was also the only place I looked.

To the OP, it really is your choice. This thread will continue on bashing each other trying to claim one superior. Do some research into the background of Google and Apple and see which you like more. The products don't have HUGE differences, so its up to ethics lul. That is why I went Android.

Well, the iPhone comes in 16GB and 32GB flavors, meaning you don't have to buy one. In the end, I guess we'll never settle for which is better, it's all personal preference.

its either brainwash or living in a cave and being afraid to try something free, green and friendly
its not a debate and never was, one has to be more than waste to fight with the green robot

TO THE OP: do some extensive testing yourself and theres only one choice

I'll MAYBE consider the iPhail when you can remove the battery without special tools. I have many other complaints about it, but that's the deal breaker for me.

I've had an original Motorola Droid from almost release day. Still have it, and it still runs great with CM 7. Of course, this phone dates to before Motorola got really crazy about locking up their handsets. These days I'd almost certainly buy some HTC Android device.

I have a SE Xperia x10 mini pro. I know it's not great but it's ok for it's price (free with contract) GBA emulator works fine and it's tons of fun!
