How often do you upgrade your video card? I'm happy w/ mine...but I got a feeling (because I like shiney things lol) that I'll get a new one every year or so. Better than wasting my money on like food or something, lol jk jk.

I upgrade whenever there's a new crysis out. so that's about every 3-4 years. (total graphics upgrade)
but then again i usually upgrade to multi gpu, so i change my graphics subsystem about 2-3 years. (like from 1 card to 2)

Typically around a year or two for me. I think I kept my GeForce 6800GS longer than that before I went to the HD4850 though. Then I went to the GTX260 after about two years...recent trend is to upgrade to the recent $200 video card every two generations or so.

Dunno, this is my first rig. I've had my 480 for a year now but see no reason to change.

If another card comes along at the right price that offers better performance/less power/less heat, then I'd consider it but for the time being I'm good.

You should add an option for multiple times a year - I normally upgrade every 6 months or so

Same. I just wait till a card I like drops to around 200 bucks and then snatch it up, even if something new is coming out. I don't have the money to drop half a grand on new video cards lol

I voted "every year" too just because there is no option "more often than that". In a little more than a year since my last build (March 2010) I went thru GTX 470, GTX 460 1GB SLI, GTX 580. Usually video card lasts me 6 to 8 months on average. Gotta have the latest toys!
Typically once/year. If I am an early adopter to a platform, I typically upgrade the CPU the 2nd year. For example, when I went to 775, I started with the E6850, upgraded to the E8400 a year later.

For my 1156, I went with the Core i5-760, then upgraded to the Core i7-870 to get the benefits of hyperthreading about 8 months later.

Graphics cards are a different story. I used to do every other year, but now I find myself upgrading every 8-12 months. I am hoping my GTX 570s will last me until next spring/summer. Just as long as they play Rage and Battlefield 3...
