HDD in BIOS?

Hello fokesies

I recently installed a new Motherboard in my computer as I was under the understanding that my old one was faulty, but after installing my new one I couldn't really install any OS or any of the drivers for the new mobo, and now I've come to suspect that my HDD might be the real sinner.

So, my question is whether there's any way to if the HDD is running or not

Ubuntu Live CD: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download

You can put it on a flash drive or CD and run the OS off the CD ROM. This will allow you to mount your HDD in an OS environment and see if it is working properly. Good luck!

get into the bios, and you should be able to snoop around for it there. if you have DVD drive it will show up there too.

There should be a boot drive setup somewhere in your BIOS. This will tell you if it's connected, not necessarily working properly.

Look under standard CMOS features in the BIOS, trying to remember Gigabytes BIOS layout. It's Award right?
