I'm sure it doesn't account for all of it, but you'd expect to get higher performance in F1 2010 with a less wide aspect ratio than the super widescreen 5760x1200, as a lot of that will be sky, which is obviously a lot less complex to render than extra track surface and trackside detail you get from the 5760x1200 resolution.
As I said, it's still ~0.5x the res of the Vega test, but it would still account for a fair amount of the performance similarity. I'd say that you can't really compare them at least in F1 2010 due to this consistency of always having a ton of sky in the 4800x2560 image versus the 5760x1200 image
