Depends on the title/Game. most game 80-85% i would say yes but there are a few that just arent going to let you max them out on that monitor

Depends on how hard you push AA.

(Don't expect Metro 2033 or Crysis to run playable frame rates with max aa)

It all depends on what you do.

Metro? No.
Idle on desktop? Yes.

You need to be more specific

There are games you won't be able to max and you could potentially run out of VRAM if you use too much eye candy on the 1.5 G VRAM version but..for all intensive purposes it will run even tough games decently, just don't expect full eye candy.

Thanks for all the input guys. I have the 1.5 gb version and I dontreally play any gpu I.tensive games. I watch movies and dosome lightgaming but that's about it.

I was thinking to either get the u2711 or a 120hz for my purpose. What do you guys think at this point?

Toughie,

Watching Bones on a 120hz TV gives it the soap opera feel, which I don't mind but others don't like it. I'm guessing the 120hz moniter is 24'?

u2711 has a bigger screen and resolution than a typical 24' 120 hz and has a nice picture and color range.

I say... u2711, the bigger screen is nice with movies, and resolution for any game.

Get the U2711, you'll be fine, I'm running a U3011 on 460 sli with only 768 of vram and it can handle most normal games well (BFBC2, DAO) though I can't usually push more than 4xAA and sometimes none in some games (Batman AA), so yes 1.5gb 580 will be fine for most games but don't expect to run at max settings. Later down the road you can then add a 2nd 580 if the games you play need it or if you want to start maxing the settings.

BTW the U3011 refurbs go for $900 which is about the same price as the U2711
