Not being able to change the FOV in a PC game = console port, period.

Portal 1 was basicly a proof of concept. Valve pretty much threw it in for free with the orange box. It was a demo of the portal physics puzzle based gameplay and as such had a fairly limited plot.

Portal 2 is an entirely different beast, it's been hailed as Valve's greatest work to date (with good reason imo) and is in pretty much every way an epic. There is a constant and gripping narrative and the story elements are as strong as I've seen in any game.

You really shouldn't judge a game by its prequel.

As a side note, how do you get board with portal 1? The entire game takes about 2 hours to beat, how much story do you really need? The last level is like 1/3d of the game anyway, and once you are at that point, you are playing the bit with the story. I mean cmon, I've wasted more time in flash games and angry birds than I have spent on the original portal.

I think I'm getting too old b/c all i see when I read this are a bunch of children crying about not getting the results of another man's hard earned labor for free.

Too much whining over hats, DLC, microtransactions that don't affect games, etc. The only complaints that have some merit are when Devs make day-0 DLC where it's obviously levels ripped from the main storyline to be sold back to us OR microtransactions that give you an edge.

I've had TF2 since Day 1 and I love it the way it is now with one exception, they've buffed the soldier and completely nerfed the Demoman and made him some stupid melee suicide bomber.

I love the personalization of TF2. It makes every character feel a bit more unique and I don't see how anyone could say that's a bad thing. Maybe if Valve was into making serious games then I could see how you might get mad at your WW2 game having party hats and an afro for your demoman, but we're talking Portal 2 and TF2.

And be real, Valve really was breathing life into TF2 with all those updates. I stopped playing a while ago but I probably had something like +400 hrs into TF2. I quit for a year b/c the updates were comign too slow and there are only so many times you can do the same stuff over and over. A year later I pick the game back up and play it for another +100 hrs b/c there's so much new stuff.

Exactly. A lot of PS3 games are this way too. Modnation Racers, Burnout Paradise, etc. You can buy a complete game unlock if you don't want to have to beat the game to do everything. I personally don't see the issue.

So many idiots, so little time to eradicate them...

I wouldn't be surprised if half the people complaining about paid DLC that isn't necessary for you to buy to enjoy the full game complain at McDonalds saying, "HEY! THESE FRENCH FRIES WERE FRIED I WANTED THEM BAKED!"

But I guess it is just something to expect some people are just idiots who ate lead paint chips as a child and think they have to buy every piece of DLC a game has to offer to even enjoy the game in the slightest bit.

EDIT: Also don't even waste your breath trying to bash me with reasonings as to why the DLC (That doesn't change the game in any way and that you are not forced to buy) is bad because I really don't care about your moronic half-baked opinion.

/Rant off

Found it interesting how such a highly anticipated game can get hammered so hard because of the store and poor porting. Now my question is would you consider the store a Day 1 DLC as they are calling it?
Yes, it's day one DLC because it expects you to pay more even though you've only just bought it.

Glad I didn't buy this POS.

What are you talking about? It's hats.... No one "expects" you to buy it. I mean seriously, it's not like they locked maps away, or any game functionality at all. It's funny looking hats. Basically, they are a way for you to donate to valve in exchange for a funny joke.

I have no idea how you can pash portal 2 as a "pos", it is an amazingly made game, an epic. It has 12-16 hours of content for a normal person, half of which is single player, all of which is polished, bug free, beautiful, and supremely well designed. You hate this game, and are glad you didn't buy it, because you have the option to buy overpriced, purely cosmetic, hats? The fact of the matter is, some people are wealthy and big fans of valve. It's not a horrible use of 10 bucks to buy a hat and show your support to valve. If you don't fit that description, don't buy a hat, and enjoy the full, complete, portal 2 experience anyway.

The reason we are saying it's not really "DLC" is because you still get the full game without it.

Coorporations cant rate games, They are often paid off. Its like saying guns kill people. Its people who kill game ratings because thay are the ones who were supposed to enjoy it.

imo, 1/4 as successful as L4D2, with twice the pissed off and 9x the money funneling.

I like stuff like this because if you aren't doing it right then people have a say in your EFF-UPS. Especially since they are the customers! Screw day one DLC (or DLC in general).
