And even though I got the confirmation reply from Asus support saying that open box GTX 580 Direct CU II from newegg does carry full 3 year warranty, I just heard from a fellow forum member with the same card getting reply from them stating 90 days only.

Now I don't really know what to think: I am just going to ask Asus to provide warranty stance based on my card's serial number.

Will post results.
I'd OC that thing until is sweats, make sure to push the limits in the first few days to see if you'll need the warranty. If it hits really high OC, and doesn't fail then it'll most likely last a while.
