Hello, i am using a corsair AX1200 Gold power supply in a corsair 800d case with the maximus motherboard, everthing runs very well. but when i shut down the pc (windows start/ shut down tab) the pc shuts down & the power supply seems to stop! but various led's & the ROG logo carry on lit & flash!
I know i can turn the logo off. but i expect the entire pc to shut down.
I have checked the fan on the power supply has stopped!! has anyone out there seen this happen? what can i do about this?

Those things are powered by the +5V standby rail, which stays on when the computer is off.

Thanks for replying to my "first post" starting to get the hang of it now! i think.

is there any way i have the computer fully shut down without resorting to the power switch at the back?
I have sent corsair an email a few weeks ago & had no reply.

You just simply hit the power switch on the front to shut down or hit shut down from the menu. When you shut off the power supply the light will blink.Just hit the power button on the front of your pc and the light will stop blinking, and all power will be removed.

5v standby will remain on even if you switch off the PSU. The only way to turn that off is to unplug it or switch the thing off at the wall. It's not a major power draw, usually around the same as a 20w light bulb.

My ROG logo glows gently while my machine is off too. No problem.

^+5VSB should be turned off if the PSU switch is flipped off, though it will stay lit for a few seconds as the charge in the caps bleeds off.
