I don't know, not too many people have $600 laying around. Sorry if I came off the wrong way. Just tried producing a test clip as a WMV, it ended up coming out nice. I'll try producing the entire thing as a WMV later.
WMV. is second best to AVI. i also suggest you use that 30 day free trial if you want some nice rendering settings ill share mine with you, here are some of my youtube videos that i recored with fraps, when you see the watch in 720p.

Just tried rendering it in WMV format, instead of 3:17 freezing it now froze at 5:47.

Sigh..... I don't know why it's doing this.

Okay, I'll try the Vegas trial to see if it's an issue with the clips/Fraps or Camtasia.

After I get all of my clips/audio into Vegas and am ready to render the entire thing, how do I do it? I remember I tried to use Vegas before and when I chose "Render As" it only rendered the first thing on the timeline, nothing else.

What render settings should I choose, too? It's a 25 minute video that's going to have audio clips so it has to fit YouTube's requirements.

You cant upload 25 minute videos to YouTube unless you are a partner? Yes, Render As> WMV. Then under Template> 5Mbps HD-720

I can upload videos longer than 15 minutes because I upload exclusive electronic music and apparently get lots of traffic and what not.

Okay, thanks. I'll go try this stuff and see what happens!

If the raw Fraps footage is fine, Fraps isn't the issue. I've used it lots and I haven't had any issues.

However, full size 60fps files makes Sony Vegas very very very atrocious. I would recommend recording half-size, seeing as the end result (compressed Youtube Video) will look the same.

Well, it's rendering in Sony Vegas! I'll let it finish, watch the ENTIRE rendered video and let you all know how it goes.

Thanks so much for the help thus far.

Well, already a problem. This popped up during the rendering. It's still rendering, but the preview screen was black for a few moments.

Edit: Just read how to solve that issue here, if it ends up ruining the final render. Hopefully I won't have to render it all over again and do that, but we'll see.

update fraps and update your video codec. The issue seems to be with the .avi file type and size. Fraps video files are huge.

tip too: right click the video and uncheck "maintain aspect ratio", your vid will fill the whole screen.

Also close out all those programs when rendering a vid. you dont need fraps running while rendering.(this is more than likely the reason of the error above.)

I render video on a daily basis ill keep an eye on this thread to help ya out.
