I tried rendering them after making the video in Sony Vegas and it gave me an error and said (Unrecognized Frame format, please install latest version of Fraps).
So I google'd that error and the Fraps forum admin said to re-compress the clips to Lagarith Losless Codec using VirtualDub to render properly. So I did that to all 32 clips, took about an hour and a half. Took all the re-compressed clips into Sony Vegas, made a video, and then tried to render.
I tried to render it .WMV as recommended above, and everything was okay until 16%. It stopped entirely at 16%. The preview screen froze, but the elapsed time and approximate time kept moving.
I'm trying to render it as a .AVI now since the original files are .AVI files, so I figured that might help.
I know nothing about codecs, formats, etc. All I want to do is get these clips in an editor, put music over the clips, render the video, put it on YouTube. But so far I have had ZERO luck.
try to just render one of the clips in vegas and see if that goes.
I've had the same issue and what may need to happen, is trash those clips check your fraps settings and try to record some clips again.
Process of elimination at this point.
-If vegas can recognize the avi, vegas is not the issue.
-If you its recording fine, fraps is likely not the issue.
-Last thing could just be a craps recording session. Toss it start a new one.
