5770 HDMI Output Borked

Thread Starter
Hey guys for the past few months I haven't been able to get any output on my video card when I have an HDMI cord plugged into my card. I have my normal monitor plugged in using a DVI to VGA adapter, but I like to use the HDMI to hook up my TV and dual-screen to watch movies or have more workspace when coding.

So here's a rundown of what I know from trying to fix it:
Yesterday I uninstalled my video drivers, booted into safe mode and used DriverCleaner.net to clean what was left, and then rebooted and installed the brand new 11.4 drivers. The interesting thing is that when I don't have the drivers installed, output works on both my monitor and my TV, which makes me believe it isn't a hardware issue. As soon as I installed the new drivers and rebooted, both monitors showed the POST, but as soon as it gets to the point at which it should show the log in screen, output is completely gone, on both my monitor and the TV. Unplugging the HDMI doesn't do anything, I have to do a reboot. The same thing will happen if I plug in the HDMI after I log in, output will immediately cut off on the monitor and can't be brought back.

Another interesting thing I discovered yesterday was that having the HDMI plugged in is apparently disabling my internet adapters. I was trying to Remote Desktop using LogMeIn on my iPad, to see if I could play around with settings while the HDMI was plugged in, but as soon as I plugged it in there was no response on the Remote Desktop and I couldn't re-connect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the control center, under desktop management click creating and arraging desktops and see if it shows both displays. If it does right click on the one on the hdmi port and i think it will say extend display or something like that, click it. Sorry its hard to explain the steps but try this and see if it works. If you have any questions just ask. Hope this helps mate.

I can't really do that because when the TV is unplugged it doesn't show up in CCC, and when I plug it in I have no video output so I can't see anything.

Sorry for the double post, but I've solved the problem.

I installed the Catalyst 10.12 drivers today on a hunch and now there's no problems with my HDMI output. So the fault is definitely with the 11 series of drivers. I'd like to be able to have 11.4 installed, as apparently even the 5770 got some performance increase, so if anyone has any idea what the problem is I'd appreciate it.

At least I can dual-screen while coding though.
