GTX 580 is horrible bang-for-buck. You shouldn't even consider it, to be honest. If you get it, you'll have to cheap out on all the other components, including the CPU and motherboard.

Can anyone tell me on the Lian Li which fan is intake and which is outtake? If I do go with this case I would be considering adding another outtake fan and potentially adding them all to a fan controller, 3 total. I would mount the 3rd fan and the fan controller in the extra drive bays, this case has nine total and I assume i would only be using two, one for the SSD and one for the HDD. Does this sound about right? Keep in mind I have never done my own custom case assembly (all experience in prefab systems )
The front fan is intake, the rear fan is exhaust. If you want to add exhaust fans, you can add two 140mm at the top. The DVD Burner will take up one the the 5 1/4 inch bays, and the fan controller will take one also. That leaves you with two free. The HDDs and SSDs use the 3.5" bays.

do you think using one intake and 3 exhaust is unbalanced/overkill?

Not really since the GPU and CPU cooler will be exhausting heat. If it worries you, you could always just stick with two exhaust.
