Gentle Typhoon AP-13's enough for RX360?

Thread Starter
Hi, I can only find the AP-13's in stock anywhere (for less than 30 bucks a piece). I know the RX series is supposed to be decent with lower speed fans, but is 1150 rpm enough? (By enough, I mean will not cripple the performance of the rad) What do you guys think? Should I keep holding out for the AP-15's I want or just go for it with the lower speed fans?

It depends somewhat on how much heat you'll ask that rad to dissipate, say from a CPU and GPU (or 2), but for that rad, yes, the AP-13 will definitely be sufficient.

It'd be the CPU and GPU in my sig (mild - moderate overclock planned on each) I plan to get another 360 eventually, but I figured a 360 would be okay for now. Thanks for the help!

Where are you getting Gentle Typhoons? Last I checked, they're out of stock everywhere because the manufacturer has completely shut down production due to the earthquakes/tsunami in Japan.

cpu + gpu on a rx360 w/ ap13 will be great, i have the same combo but w/ ap-14's, if i turn them down to 1150rpm they still provide great cooling, not to mention it's dead silent. my 2600k at 1.45v loads 50-60c and gtx570 1.1v loads 40c-50c

I'll tell you once I've placed my order. Don't want them getting snatched up before I can get any like last time I found some

Ah, I see. Yeah, a 360 with AP-13s will definitely work great for that.

Not to nitpick, but those Noctuas on that link are 2 bucks more a piece than the GT link you sent, just thought it was a bit funny. Also, I have heard only good things about GT's in all the performance / noise tests I have seen. I was definitely looking at yates as my backup though. Thanks
