4Ghz+ OC Help

Thread Starter
Hey guys i would like some help here to get my OC higher than 4Ghz. My Vcore @ 4Ghz is at 1.318 and am 100% sure it is stable 24/7.

My Water cooling can handle the higher OC's it just seems that i'm hindered from the CPU that i have, I think 4ghz is pretty much its max. If i try to reach anything higher it seems i need a Vcore @ 1.38+. That just seems like a huge jump from 4ghz to 4.1ghz lol, pretty crazy.

VCore: 1.31875
IOH/ICH/IO Votage: 1.5500
ICH Vcore: 1.12500
QPI PLL Vcore: 1.27500
IOH PLL Vcore: 1.80000
CPU PLL Vcore: 1.80000
IOH Vcore: 1.27500
CPU VTT Volt: 1.32500
DRAM Volts: 1.6500

The Ram i have is Rated 1600mhz
Ram Timing is 9-9-9-24

Ich vcore and CPU vtt could go up a hair. That should help. (Pumping volts into everything helps duh ;P)
Some chips Overclock like hell and others will hit walls with overclocks and it may not be worth bumping alot of core volts for such little return. Like my qx9650 from 3.8 takes 1.3v fine a needs 1.36 for 4. (Had vdroop issues will test new settings tonight...) but its alot of vcore for a little bump. Then again spending 3 minutes Overclocking doesn't count but it easily passes prime and Intel burn in at them volts.

Does your box pass prime or others with 1.38v? If your board can take the stress raise board volts. CPU tales better oc then. Lemme see your BIOS and screen shots of settings.

Lol jk, but anyways
I see you've got your multiplier (ratio) at 20x. i7 920 D0s can do 21x, thus giving you a 4.2 GHz easily, but I do not recall the sweet spot voltage for it. I just put in 1.35v and 200 base clock of 21x ratio. You can try this set up but I don't think you like my 1.35volt suggestion

Well i fail at trying to flash bios's apparently. I DL'ed the bios image file for my motherboard and apparently i keep getting an error saying "Cannot find File" or "File not an image file"

I have done this type of thing plenty of times but apparently this one particular thing doesn't wanna work. Any Help?
