You bought OSX and it came as 10.6.3? You're saying you try to boot from the CD and it just freezes during the process?

It freezes at the Apple logo. Doesn't even make it to the progress indicator.

Resetting PRAM and NVRAM

Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
See if that lets you boot any further.

I tried that. No go.
From what I understand. 10.6.3 doesnt recognize this chipset and cpu. Which is why it stops installing. If i could force it to install and then update it to 10.6.6 Id be in good shape.

Where did you buy your OSX from? Did Apple send you 10.6.3? Is there an Apple store near you?

If that's true that 10.6.3 doesn't support 2011 MBPs. If you need help, PM me.

I would call Apple and see ask why they sent you 10.6.3. Don't worry, their support isn't like Dell, you'll actually speak to someone who speaks fluent English within 1-2 minutes.
