Hmm, you're right, it seems 2010 and beyond don't work with retail 10.6.3 discs. They require the restore discs that came with the computer which are newer and have to be replaced from customer support. 2011 MBPs have a special 10.6.6 restore disc included.

Call AppleCare and ask how to order replacement discs. Have your computer's serial number handy when you call. You still have that standard 1 year warranty and see if you can return the OSX disc.

Seems PoopaScoopa is helping OP out but just wanted to recommend you keep a minimal install of OS X on your machine. Firmware (hardware) updates will not be detected/installed through Windows and require OS X + Software Update installed on your machine.

Just trying to get more information: You can still boot to Mac OS X right? Using Alt/Option key when the white screen appears?

I installed W7 on the entire hard drive.


An update.
I bought a set of dvds off of Ebay. 10.6.6 from the same spec Macbook. They work. Installing now. Thanks for the help guys.
