If I buy a mobo now, will I still have to deal with the cold boot issues?

I've heard that you need to update your BIOS to fix some of the issues, but I've never done that before.

I'm wondering if the problems are fixed right out of the box if I buy the newer mobos right now.

Nowadays most motherboard manufactures provide a program that you install and run at the OS level and it will flash your bios for you.

It's not like back in the day using a 98bootdisk then sliding in your Bios flash on another floppy, executing the program, and then watching as the bars slowly start to fill up...

the whole time you are practically ready to ***** yourself, because you KNOW that if anything goes wrong...you just bricked your mobo.

Most if not all have some sort of protection to prevent incorrect version install and corrupt file...

It does not mean it's impossible to brick your motherboard, but it certainly is not something I would tell anyone who actually knows what flashing a motherboard is to stay away from.
