How do I gain full permission of ntdll.dll in Win7?

Thread Starter
My ntdll.dll keeps crashing, it's most likely corrupted. I need to be able to replace it with a good copy. But even with the drive plugged in to another comp as a storage drive, it still says I don't have permission. Is there any way to gain full permission of that file? If I use a Linux LiveCD will I be able to change that file? Thanks.

I would say if you boot into a Live CD and give yourself write access to the drive. I am almost positive you will be able to copy the new uncorrupted file and overwrite the existing one.

Thanks for the reply. Turns out ATI Tray Tools was conflicting with Maxthon 2, but for some reason it also caused the Windows Gadget to crash. This is after I installed SP1. But after I uninstalled ATT, everything seems to work now. So I didn't need to replace the ntdll.

That is good to hear I haven't installed SP1 yet...still waiting it out. Like I always do.

Yea, I didn't have any problem before with Win7 (no SP or updates installed) and ATT. I ended up modding the bios and flashed it. So now it runs at overclocked settings without a need for a separate oc tool.
